Uniform Policy
Dress Code
Holy Trinity Episcopal School provides a productive learning environment that includes a safe and modest standard of dress. Our dress code policy serves to focus on learning and teaching, while demonstrating a visible high standard of excellence to our community.
Uniform Standard: Students are expected to wear a school uniform on all school days. Uniform consists of a black or grey HTES uniform polo or t-shirt, and khaki, black or navy bottoms (see below). Footwear should be closed-toe shoes with a back appropriate for active learning (crocs and sandals are not appropriate footwear). Hair should be neat in appearance and worn out of the eyes. All clothes should fit properly and be clean and free of rips or tears.
Acceptable bottoms include long pants, shorts, skorts, or skirts in the colors of khaki, black, or navy. Short bottoms should be long enough to fall at or just above the knee. Unacceptable bottoms include tight-fitting pants, short-shorts, and jeans.
Sweaters and hoodless jackets or HTES uniform hoodies and jackets may be worn by students as desired. In most cases, hats and hoods should be removed during instruction. Students are to respect teacher’s requests regarding hats and hoods.
Special dress days: HTES Student Council oversees scheduling special dress days. These may be themed, dress-down, or activity-oriented dress days. Students are welcome either to observe the special dress day or to wear their uniform.
Sensory Needs: HTES is aware that many of our students have sensory needs which may make dressing in uniform challenging. In these cases, we will do our best to find an acceptable compromise with the student and their parents. However, maintaining school uniform is essential to school pride and student safety. As such, unless previously directly discussed with school staff, students are expected to dress in uniform.
