This is Who We Are

Holy Trinity Episcopal School is a private, not-for-profit school founded in 1996 as a ministry of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Fruitland Park, Lake County, Florida.  We are housed on the campus of this beautiful, historic church.

HTES is a diverse and welcoming Christian community that accommodates children and families of any faith, origin, or background. We offer a faith-based educational program that values good citizenship, sound character, and scholarly learning. These have become the hallmarks of Holy Trinity Episcopal School. Our motto is Character, Faith and Knowledge.

vision

Our Vision is that every student who graduates from Holy Trinity Episcopal School will have the abilities, knowledge, and skills necessary to pursue a college or vocational degree, start a career, and live an independent and rewarding life.

mission

At HTES, we achieve our Vision by providing a safe and positive environment in which every student can excel academically, socially, spiritually, and independently.

Each student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP) is examined to make sure that she or he has the necessary accommodations to allow them to progress and learn at their assigned grade level. Small classroom sizes and peer groups provide students with a safe and reassuring environment to make friends and to learn from one another. The partnerships maintained by HTES, including Lake Tech and Vocational Rehabilitation, provide students with pathways that will lead them toward a college or a career. Chapel services and worship allow students to experience spiritual growth within an inclusive community. Academics, sociability, spirituality, and independence have become hallmarks of Holy Trinity Episcopal School.

our episcopal identity - faith

HTES is a member of the National Association of Episcopal Schools. As an Episcopal School, we uphold high standards and principles which give each HTES student a special advantage.

By weaving the Episcopal Principles – Worship, Community Life, Religious Formation and Study, and Social Justice - into the very fabric of the school’s overall life, Episcopal schools ensure that each school's mission is built on the sure foundation of a Christian love. This love guides and challenges all who attend our school to build lives of genuine meaning, purpose and service in the world they will inherit.
  • School Worship is a regular part of school life for all faculty and students.
    • We hold bi-weekly Chapel Services in the Church.
    • Attendance is required but participation is optional.
  • Community Life includes reflection, prayer, and honoring matters of the spirit as well as support for the physical, mental, and emotional health of students and faculty.
  • Religious studies are meaningful, academically substantive, and age appropriate. In teaching the Christian tradition, we foster dialogue with other faith traditions.
  • Social justice integrates the ideals and concepts of equity, justice, and a just society throughout the life of the school. We embrace and honor diversity; and we include community service and service-learning as an integral part of the life of the school.

knowledge - htes curriculum

The curriculum at Holy Trinity Episcopal School (HTES) best reflects the courses of study in the typical middle schools and high schools in the area. However, HTES strives to assist each student as an individualized learner at the middle school/high school level. Students follow an organizational system designed to support the development of executive functioning skills and study skills.

The core programs offered in grades 6-8 help to establish and improve upon a base skill set that will be needed as the students prepare to enter high school. The middle school programs focus on establishing executive functioning skills and study skills, while at the same time building upon spelling and vocabulary. During this time, middle school students learn important life competencies such as team building, stewardship, and personal responsibility.

At the high school level HTES offers curricula aligned to local standards in English, Math, Science, and Social Studies. There are also specialty courses that offer students a chance to expand their knowledge and worldly comprehension such as Financial Literacy, Entrepreneurship, and Senior Project. Students are enrolled in a two-year foreign language program which is needed for graduation.
